Emily Bauer is an associate at Stahly Mehrtens Miner, LLC, specializing in family law. She graduated from the University of Colorado Law School and, driven by her deep commitment to advocating for children and families, earned her Certificate in Juvenile and Family Law.
During law school, Emily gained valuable experience through internships at the Colorado Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel, Colorado Legal Services, and the Office of the Child’s Representative. She also volunteered in the Juvenile and Family Law Clinic, representing children in cases involving dependency and neglect, immigration, and juvenile delinquency. This experience allowed her to gain invaluable hands-on experience in the legal system.
Emily earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Truman State University and majored in Political Science and International Relations with a minor in Gender Studies. This diverse academic background has shaped her understanding of the complexities within social and legal systems.
Prior to relocating to Colorado, Emily worked part-time as a daycare teacher for children ages 3 to 8. It was there she discovered her passion for helping young individuals and their families. This passion deepened during her year working as Chief of Staff for a representative in the Missouri State Legislature, where she focused on policy issues affecting foster children.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Emily enjoys hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains, volunteering with local organizations, and actively engaging in community advocacy.
